Mission To Japan | Christian Host Families Needed!

Mission To Japan has an urgent need for several Christian host families to be a part of their mission work to share the gospel with Japanese college students. Host families are needed to host one Japanese college student each, from Feb. 19 ~ March 14 (but students will be away for a spring break retreat in Daytona from March 4 ~ 8). Most students speak enough English to get by. Host families drop their student off at Northland Church in Longwood at 9:15 a.m. Monday ~ Friday, and pick their student up in the evenings (usually between 5:30 ~ 6:30 p.m.).

The staff of Mission To Japan (Warren and Yukari Griffith) will provide guidance through the whole program, and will meet with students each weekday for classes and sightseeing. Host family responsibilities include providing a guest room, getting your student to and from the church on weekdays, providing meals, and just loving them. This is a great and practical way to help fulfill the Great Commission to make disciples of all nations. The whole family will enjoy interacting with your Japanese student too.

We’ll have a host family orientation before the students arrive to equip host families for the best experience possible. Most of the students are not Christians but are open to the Bible studies we’ll provide (in Japanese) and know that the host families are Christians. Most students join to experience American culture, practice English, and enjoy sightseeing in Orlando (Mission To Japan takes the students to the theme parks so you don’t have to).

La Nouba by Cirque du Soleil introduces a Local Heroes offer for Florida’s police officers, firefighters and emergency medical service personnel in honor of their service to our communities.

Seen by more than 8 million guests, La Nouba features high wire and flying trapeze acts, stunning acro-gymnastic performances and other dynamic displays of coordination and strength.

TheLocal Heroes Offer Category 3 seats for La Nouba are $48.75 (adult) and $39.00 (child), plus tax. Tickets are available for purchase online, by phone at (407) 939-7328 or at the box office located on the plaza level of the theater. Florida Emergency Responder Personnel ID required. Tickets are subject to availability and restrictions apply.

Moms4Moms

Moms4Moms is a group that serves as an oasis of peace and hope offering answers to various situations that moms of young children encounter every day. We provide sounds biblical guidance and vibrate relationships so she can thrive in the many seasons of motherhood! Meetings include food, guest speakers, games and crafts just to name a few! This group is open to any mother of an infant or preschool aged children as well as homeschooling families. Childcare is provided. We meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. in room B-7. Please contact Katie for more information: kw4moms@gmail.com

MOPS

This is a great group for mothers to meet and have a break. MOPS is mothers of preschoolers, which includes those that are pregnant. However, there are other MOPS groups, which we have incorporated into our group, such as Military MOPS, Teen MOPS, and MOPS Next. No matter what age your child is, or what your age is, join us for a great time of fellowship. Our cost is typically $24 for the international fee and $36 for the meeting fee, but if you are just now joining, the fees will be $24 for international fee and $18 for meeting fees. Come out and try us for free. We hope to see you!

A Year in the Life: Backstage to Onstage at Universal Orlando Resort Exhibition
