Mission To Japan | Christian Host Families Needed!

Mission To Japan has an urgent need for several Christian host families to be a part of their mission work to share the gospel with Japanese college students. Host families are needed to host one Japanese college student each, from Feb. 19 ~ March 14 (but students will be away for a spring break retreat in Daytona from March 4 ~ 8). Most students speak enough English to get by. Host families drop their student off at Northland Church in Longwood at 9:15 a.m. Monday ~ Friday, and pick their student up in the evenings (usually between 5:30 ~ 6:30 p.m.).

The staff of Mission To Japan (Warren and Yukari Griffith) will provide guidance through the whole program, and will meet with students each weekday for classes and sightseeing. Host family responsibilities include providing a guest room, getting your student to and from the church on weekdays, providing meals, and just loving them. This is a great and practical way to help fulfill the Great Commission to make disciples of all nations. The whole family will enjoy interacting with your Japanese student too.

We’ll have a host family orientation before the students arrive to equip host families for the best experience possible. Most of the students are not Christians but are open to the Bible studies we’ll provide (in Japanese) and know that the host families are Christians. Most students join to experience American culture, practice English, and enjoy sightseeing in Orlando (Mission To Japan takes the students to the theme parks so you don’t have to).

Fantasy of Flight's "Legends & Legacies: They Dared to Fly: Tuskegee Airmen"

Fantasy of Flight’s Legends & Legacies Symposium Series kicks off with “They Dared to Fly” in honor of Black History Month. Community Flea Market

Join us for a community flea market in our parking lot. A variety of local vendors will be there selling their crafts, products and services. This event is a monthly church fundraiser planned for the second Saturday of the month in January-May and October-December during 2013.

Jeff has over ten years of counseling experience relating to marriage, grief, and crisis intervention.  With more than twenty years military service and seven years in the corporate settings, Jeff has a real life, practical understanding of the demands and challenges of today’s world.

Jeff holds a Doctor of Ministry in Family Therapy from Amridge University.

Dr. Bobby Adams
Bobby is pastor of Faith Presbyterian Church, with more than ten years in ministry.  Bobby has demonstrated a heart for individuals and family throughout his ministry.

Bobby has a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from Reformed Theological Seminary.

Health Workshop

The Brotherhood of St. Andrew will host a health workshop on Saturday, February 9^th at 9:00 a.m. regarding restoring health and promoting wellness, featuring Victor Tricoche, D.C., M.S., Chiropractor.  Breakfast will be provided.  All are welcome.

Family Breakfast with Mr. Richard

Bring the little ones for breakfast and be entertained with a FREE performance by Mr. Richard. With sing-along tunes about fish, skunks, cool snakes and girl pilots, Mr. Richard plays music for hip kids.
