Opening January 26, 2013, and running through January 26, 2014, the exhibition will change with each Universal Orlando Resort event season and the holidays – focusing on The Macy’s Holiday Parade and performances by Holiday Music Sensation Mannheim Steamroller. It also showcases the creative process that brought to life two of Universal Orlando Resort’s newest entertainment experiences – the Universal Cinematic Spectacular – 100 Years of Movie Memories lagoon show and the Universal Superstar Parade.

Wild Florida: Past, Present and Future, an Art of Sand Exhibit


Location: Brevard Zoo, Melbourne FL

Wild Florida: Past, Present and Future, an Art of Sand exhibit, opens President’s Day weekend and remains open through Memorial Day. Guests to Brevard Zoo can take their walk on the wild side to new depths of art and history as they traverse a 1/4-mile trail taking in 13 incredible sand sculptures carved into the native landscape of Brevard Zoo. Created by eight international sand sculptors, this exhibit shares the Florida story – tracing the history of wildlife and humans on our peninsula. Hear the sounds of a time gone by as you view these breathtaking artistic and historical sculptures – just in time to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Ponce de Leon’s first exploration of North America.

This exhibit is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. February 16 through May 27. It has a separate admission price (in addition to Zoo admission) of $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $2 for children ages 2 to 12. Children under 2 are free.

Upward Flag Football


Location: First Baptist Oviedo, Oviedo FL

Upward Flag Football is a ministry designed to use flag football to teach each child about SALVATION, CHARACTER, and SELF-ESTEEM as they learn the skills of the game of flag football.

Upward Flag Football is for players Kindergarten through Grade 8. Many players participate in the Upward Sports programs with First Baptist Oviedo from around the community. You can learn more at Upward Sports.

This our first season for flag football at First Baptist Oviedo, teams will be divided by grade and gender depending on the number of registrants. Each team will have one practice during the week, on Tuesday or Thursday, and a game each Saturday. The season will include 6-8 games as the schedule permits. All league events will be at Lawton Elementary School across the street or in the Christian Life Center gym here on campus.

Registration:

$100 Registration through February 17
$110 Late Registration after February 17 is only available if space permits.
Jersey, shorts, practice t-shirt, trophy and end-of-season surprise will be provided for all registered players at no additional cost. Other optional costs associated with the league are pictures and any concession stand items or team snacks you choose to purchase.

2013 Upward Flag Football Schedule

Flag Football Evaluations:
In lieu of normal Flag Football Evaluations, we will be having a special event to help ensure even teams; please make every effort to be there.
Friday, March 1 – 6:00-8:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Oviedo, Christian Life Center Gym.

Coaches:
If you are interested in coaching your child’s team, please indicate so on your registration and mark Tuesday, February 26 on your calendar for the 6:00-7:00 p.m. Coaches’ Meeting. All head coaches must be regular attenders of First Baptist Oviedo for at least six months.

Practices:
Tuesdays or Thursdays, March 5-April 25; one hour at 5:30 or 6:30 p.m.
No practices March 26-28 during Easter Break.

You can make a request for a certain practice night on your registration form if you need to and we will make every effort to accommodate your schedule.

Games:
Saturdays, March 9-April 27 (no games March 30)
Times to be determined based on number of registrants. Youngest players will be at 9:00 a.m. with later games the older the player.

Picture Day:
Game 2 – Saturday, March 16, 2013 (yes, you will still have a game on that day!)
Team/individual pictures will be taken and you will have the opportunity, but are not obligated, to purchase. You can view picture samples at Magic Memories. Your child will still have a game after the pictures are taken.

Award Celebration: 
Saturday, April 27 after your game.
