Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Open House

Location: Early Learning Coalition of Seminole, Longwood FL

The Early Learning Coalition of Seminole will hold a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Open House on Thursday February 28, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Florida House Representative Karen Castor Dentel and Longwood City Commissioner Butch Bundy will be guest speakers.

The Coalition moved to Longwood to be centrally located in Seminole and more accessible to families seeking subsidized child care and early learning services. Prior to January 2013, the Coalition contracted with Community Coordinated Care for Children (4C) to determine a family’s eligibility for subsidized childcare and to distribute payments to providers who accept subsidies at their centers. The Early Learning Coalition of Seminole is now the sole provider of subsidized child care assistance in Seminole County and Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten eligibility determination.

In addition to subsidized childcare and VPK, the Coalition provides families, regardless of income, with information on how to select and locate a child care center that meets their specific needs. Hearing, vision and developmental screenings are also available onsite at the new Longwood office.
