Art of Medicine Gala Hosted by First GREEN Bank


Location: Orlando Museum of Art, Orlando FL

The Art of Medicine Gala takes place October 20 from 6 – 11 p.m. at The Orlando Museum of Art to benefit the University of Florida Trauma, Concussion, and Sports Neuromedicine Program. The event honors Dr. Cindy LaRoe, a survivor of a traumatic brain injury. Dr. LaRoe and her husband Ken LaRoe, founder of First GREEN Bank and Art of Medicine Foundation, invite the community to an artful evening including performances by Orlando Ballet, live music, art auction, tasting stations and more. Taste a selection of organic beer and wine, and a moonlit dessert reception in the art fountain court. Guest Emcee Scott Maxwell will the lead the evening. Enjoy live speed-painting performance by Rock DeMarco, as well as guest speakers Michael S. Jaffe, MD and Steven DeKosky, MD of University of Florida Health. Pet Fest


Location: San Marcos Plaza, San Marcos Texas

Pet Fest celebrates animals while benefiting PALS (a prevent a litter program).  PALS is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending pet overpopulation and pet homelessness through educational and spay/neuter programs.  At the event, there will be a blessing of the animals, animal parades, live music, a silent auction, merchandise and food vendors, kids’ activities, arts and crafts, a pet costume contest, and a K-9 demonstration.  In addition, there will be a meet and greet the homeless pets from shelters and rescues who are waiting to be adopted.  A donation of dry pet food would be greatly appreciated.  This is a wonderful celebration of all pets; restrained animals with nice manners are invited to this event as well.  All proceeds go directly to PALS, contributions are tax deductible.  To learn more go to:  www.PreventALitter.com/pet-fest

St. Luke's Concert Series: Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra

St. Luke’s Concert Series, celebrating its 24th season of offering FREE concerts, presents the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra on Saturday, October 21st at 7pm.

“Eric Plays Haydn” features Eric Jacobsen, conductor and cellist, performing Haydn’s Cello Concerto in D Major. Principal flute, Colleen Blagov performs the Flute Concerto in D minor (Greenstein). The classical program also includes Elgar’s Enigma Variations.
