The Christ School's Mane Event 2015 - Camo Cotillion


Location: The Country Club of Orlando, Orlando Florida

The Mane Event is The Christ School’s premiere annual fundraising event. Get ready for fun, fellowship and southern-inspired fashion this year as we present the “Camo Cotillion.” The theme reflects a funky, eclectic marriage of high southern style and hunting/sportsman. It is sure to be a fantastic evening with our TCS community!

Auction items are now open for viewing at The Christ School’s. Bidding opens at 5:00 p.m. on March 14. You do not have to be present to bid or to win.

Last year, with the help of many volunteers, families, and friends, over $100,000 was raised at The Mane Event to advance the mission of TCS. We are thankful to everyone who attended and helped make this success possible.

Shepherds Community UMC "Night of Worship"

This will be a very special “Night of Worship” of Nashville worship leaders/songwriters including:

  • Becca Bradley, touring cellist for Francesca Battistelli
  • Livingsong Music Ministry

The vision for this FREE evening is to bring a community support for those who spread the good news of faith in Christ through their music and connect with one another united by music to actively seek God together in worship. There will be finger foods, fellowship, coffee, prize giveaways and more! Please help us create community awareness by Facebook invitations.

Come join the senior adults at Community Methodist in Casselberry for a time of fun and fellowship.  Margaret Davis, a ventriloquist and entertainer, will present the program, “The Talking hand.” Margaret has been with us before and she is a very talented and entertaining person. And a delicious homemade corn beef and cabbage lunch will be served as well.

The development of a young child is profoundly influenced by experience. Experiences – good and bad – shape the organization of the brain. The ultimate effect is to impact emotional, social, cognitive and physiological functioning. Insights into this process come from understanding brain development. Both trauma and neglect, the absence of essential developmental experiences required to express a fundamental potential of a child, are pervasive problems in our culture. Various forms of neglect are possible and include splinter neglect, total global neglect and emotional or relational neglect. Chaos, threat and abnormal patterns of emotional, social, cognitive and physical interactions with young children lead to an array of brain-related problems. This presentation will review clinical work and research that can help us better understand developmental trauma, neglect and the relational problems that arise from neglect and threat.

DivorceCare is a weekly seminar and support group for healing from a marriage breakup. You will learn practical information that will help you deal with the challenges of divorce. Best of all, you will gain hope for the future. DivorceCare for Kids, DC4K, provides a safe, fun place where your children will learn to understand their feelings, express their emotions appropriately, feel better about themselves and develop coping skills. Lenten Friday Fish Fry


Location: Holy Family Catholic Church, Orlando FL

The Men of Holy Family are proud to serve up Our Famous Battered Fish for Lenten. We start serving begin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. We will offer up Our Famous Battered Fish served Family Style with sides of Cole Slaw, Fries, Green Beans, Bread, Tar-tar Sauce and Malt Vinegar. We also offer Baked Fish, Fried Shrimp and a weekly Seafood Special. But WAIT! Don’t Eat Too Much! You will want to save room for Dessert. Each Friday we have Desserts offered by another Ministry of the Holy Family Parish. Desserts will be available for nominal charge (and Father will give dispensation on these desserts).

Food and beverages start at 5:30 p.m. in the new parish Life Center. Be sure to bring Family and Friends. You will not want to miss out on a good time with great food at the very best value in Southwest Orlando for over 20 years!
