Unforsaken Women supports The Good Samaritan Academy in Morisseau Haiti, and they are receiving the love of God and an education; however, this school suffered terrible damage during Hurricane Matthew, and is in need of repair. The roof is completely destroyed, walls are damaged, and rooms that were in the process of being built were damaged, as well as their interior belongings, being completely destroyed.

Orlando Fire Museum re-named

Location: Orlando Fire Museum, Orlando Fl.

On Saturday, December 10, at 10 a.m. Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and Orlando Fire Chief Roderick S. Williams will join with the community to proudly rededicate the Orlando Fire Museum to the late Retired Deputy Chief Randall R. Tuten, in recognition of his tireless commitment to the Orlando Fire Department. The Orlando Firefighter Pipes and Drums, the Honor Guard, family, friends, firefighters and retired firefighters will all pay tribute to Chief Tuten with a ceremony, followed by an unveiling of a new cast bronze plaque in his name.
“It is an honor to dedicate the Fire Museum in recognition of Randy and his service to our residents,” said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. “This museum will continue to showcase the long tradition of fire service, education and care the Orlando Fire Department provides to our community.”

The Randall R. Tuten Orlando Fire Museum will feature new educational exhibits for children and adults. The Orlando Fire Department also unveiled a new website for the museum, orlandofiremuseum.org. The website allows visitors to request educational tours, explore the artifact gallery online and scroll through an interactive historical timeline.

The museum, formerly Orlando Fire Station 3, opened in 1972. The two-story, brick building was originally located in College Park, but was moved to Loch Haven Park as a new Station 3 was built.

In 2016, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer renamed the museum in honor of the late Retired Deputy Fire Chief, Randall R. Tuten. Randall followed in his father’s, G.F. Tuten, footsteps and became a second generation Deputy Fire Chief for the Orlando Fire Department. Mr. Tuten proudly served the Orlando Fire Department from 1974 – 2002 and served as head of operations at the Orlando Fire Museum from 2004 – 2016. Randall’s son, Nick Tuten, is carrying on the family tradition and is currently a third generation firefighter with the Orlando Fire Department.

Learn more about the Randall R. Tuten Orlando Fire Museum at orlandofiremuseum.org.

There will be fun activities for children and the museum will be open for FREE tours after the ceremony. Hands-only CPR information, BP checks, Smoke detectors will be there to be handed out.

Musical Worship Experience for Christmas

Location: St Stephen Lutheran Church, Longwood Fl

Behold the Lamb of God – “The True Tall Tale of the Coming of the Christ”

The Christmas Story – in music – innovative and new – about how God saw the brokenness of humanity and then resolved to heal us. It’s a message about the Incarnation — God’s undiluted presence in the man Jesus. Yes, Christmas is when that man was born (or at least when we celebrate his birth), but the story is bigger than Christmas, come listen and see.
