This year’s march and rally will expose the rampant yet sensitive issues of gun violence, gang violence and domestic abuse. On Saturday May 18, 2013 come out and join the members of the Derbyshire community as we declare, NOT OUR CITY, THE MADNESS STOPS HERE! The march will begin at 9am leaving from Hope Fellowship Church in Daytona Beach, FL and conclude at 1 p.m. after a rally at Derbyshire Park (adjacent to the church). Highwaymen WeekendLocation: Orange County Regional History Center, Orlando FL A group of 26 African Americans found success as artists in the segregated south of the 1950s. Meet the artists, hear their stories, and purchase their uniquely Florida paintings during the History Center’s Highwaymen Weekend. Artists available 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday’s artists will include Mary Ann Carrol, Roy Mclendon, and Robert Lewis Jr. Sunday’s artists will include James Gibson, Al Black, and Isaac Knight. Museum open Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday noon-5 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance by calling 407.836.7010.
