Dominick's Dream Walk: 5K Fundraiser

Location: Kissimmee Lakefront, Kissimmee Florida

Dominick will be 4 on September 23, 2014. He has hydrocephalus, spastic diplegic cerebral palsy and dystonia. These conditions severely impact his walking ability. He is the strongest person I have ever known and it makes me proud everyday to see what a fighter he is. His neurologist believes that a surgery called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy could change Dominick’s life as it will allow him to stand with both feet flat on the floor and learn to balance. Unfortunately, in order for Dominick to receive this surgery we must travel from our home to St. Louis, MO to the St. Louis Children’s Hospital where we will need to spend 8 days. The total cost of the hospital fees, doctors fees and the intensive therapy he will receive while there costs $33,500 and our health insurance company will not cover the procedure for him. To raise money for this procedure, we will be hosting a 5K walk/run on September 13,  at 7:00 a.m. at the Kissimmee Lakefront.  To learn more about Dominick’s story, or to make a donation please visit Dominick’s  Go Fund Me webpage. Thank you for your support and we hope to see you at the 5K!

Price for the 5K:
$20.oo (and you will receive a medal after completing the 3 miles.)
