Adventist University Presents "Deogratias Niyizonkiza"

Location: Florida Hospital Church, Orlando Florida

Adventist University invites you to join us for an evening with Deogratias Niyizonkiza, whose incredible story is featured in Tracy Kidder’s bestselling book Strength In What Remains

Deo arrived in the United States from Burundi, East Africa, in search of a new life. Having survived civil war and genocide, he landed at JFK airport with two hundred dollars, no English, and no contacts. He eked out a precarious existence delivering groceries, living in Central Park, and learning English by reading dictionaries in bookstores. Then Deo began to meet strangers who would change his life, pointing him in the direction of Columbia University medical school. Now Deo has devoted his life to healing, starting Village Health Works, a non-profit organization that provides quality, compassionate, dignified healthcare to people in rural Burundi.

The event is free and open to the public. Click HERE to RSVP.

Eatonville Heritage Day 2015

Location: Eatonville, Florida, Eatonville Florida

Eatonville to Celebrate and Encourage Youth with Heritage Day-
The town of Eatonville will gather on Saturday, February 7, 2015, to recognize the legacy of the oldest African-American town in the United States. Eatonville’s Inaugural Heritage Day 2015 will display a festival atmosphere, providing engaging speakers and celebrations of customs and culture honoring the traditions of this small, but vibrant municipality. The focus is on helping our youth reconnect with their past, in order to enhance their future. Saturday morning will kick off with a prayer breakfast featuring the town’s local ministers and dignitaries. Afterwards, storytellers, musicians, and other performers and vendors will be on hand to show their skills and crafts, and many fascinating displays, including an antique car exhibit, will be available. The Zeta Educational Thespian Association, Incorporated, and the City of Eatonville, are organizing the event, the first in a while, but it is hoped that the 2015 event will be the first of an annual celebration. Visitors from throughout Central Florida are welcome to come and spend the day celebrating with us.

First Responder Marriage Conference

Whether it’s a first aid kit or hose, every first responder has tools they use for their trade. These tools are vital to the first responders and wouldn’t even imagine going to work without them. Just as first responders go to work with the tools of their trade, we must go into our marriages with tools as well. So no matter how long you’ve been married or if you’ve never been married at all, come and obtain tools for a successful “Three Strand Marriage.”

A cord of three strands is not easily broken.” ~ Ecclesiastes 4:12

Don’t miss out on guest speakers including former WWE wrestling champion Marc Mero along with Badge of Hope Ministries Cpl. Rick and Kristi Neace. Speakers and conference are brought to you by Brevard County Law Enforcement, Brevard County Fire & Rescue and Calvary Chapel Melbourne.
