Grow and Sing Studios Kindermusik Playdates are a one-day music and movement class for parents and kids on the go! You get the same Kindermusik fun and learning as in the weekly classroom . . . and the same high-quality take-home materials (including music and a book, instrument, OR props) . . . but a one-day class is just that much easier to schedule, attend, and afford. It’s also a GREAT opportunity to see what Kindermusik is all about.

Veterans Day Parade

Location: Downtown Orlando, Orlando

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and his Veterans Advisory Council invite Central Florida residents and visitors to attend the 16th annual City of Orlando Veterans Day Parade on November 12, to honor the courageous men and women of the armed forces who have fought for our nation’s freedom.

The parade takes place in Downtown Orlando and will feature marching bands, ROTC units, veterans groups, active duty military and decorative floats.

The Veterans Day Parade begins at 11 a.m. at the corner of Orange Avenue and Robinson Street.

For 43 years, the Oviedo Woman’s Club has hosted Great Day in the Country.  This year we are proud to wear our new logo while embarking on a new journey in our new location, Oviedo on the Park.  The logo was designed by a Seminole State College Graphics Student.  Our partnership with Seminole State allowed their students to take this project on as a “class” project.  The winner, Jasmine Abdullah Alzayer, received an award for the best design.  Oviedo on the Park, the new downtown for the City of Oviedo will provide a venue that is in the center of town, easy access, and parking on site.

This arts and crafts festival is one of the largest in Central Florida with over 350 vendors featuring arts and crafts, businesses, non-profit organizations, and food and drinks.  Our live entertainment will be on two stages and will have local student acts as well as professional bands.  For the first time, we will have beer and wine for sale.

Artists are judged in several categories and the winners are awarded a total of $4,000.00 in prize money.  Our student art fest features art from all our elementary, middle, and high school students.  And scholarships are awarded to winning students in the amount of $2,000.00.

Free shuttles will be provided from two locations, Reformed Theological Seminary on Mitchell Hammock Road and at the intersection of 419 and Oviedo Blvd.  Shuttles will drop off at Center Lake Lane and Oviedo Blvd. and at the intersection of Plaza Way Drive and Mike Roberto Way.

7th Annual Pumpkin Run to Benefit Haiti

Runners Invited to Run the Good Race for Haiti

WINTER PARK, Florida, Sept. 19, 2016 – It’s almost time for the 7th annual Pumpkin Run on November 12. The event, a 5K for runners, race-walkers and casual walkers, will benefit Catholic mission projects in Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.

The Pumpkin Run, sponsored by St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and St. Stephen Catholic Community, starts at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 12 at historic Mead Garden, 1500 South Denning Drive, Winter Park.

“Every time on my return from a trip to Haiti, I thank God for the blessing of living in a land of plenty,” said Father Richard Walsh, pastor of St. Margaret Mary. “Participation in the Pumpkin Run is one way to share some of those blessings with those in great need.”

Race-day registration costs are $35 for adults and $25 for students, ages 10 to 18. Runners who register prior to November 6 will receive a discount. A special entry fee for student groups of six or more is available at $15 per student with an adult registration; children age 9 and under can race for free with a paying adult.

The event is open to the public. Free parking is available.

Over 20 years, STEP OUT has raised $175,000,000 to support ADA’s lifesaving research, advocacy efforts, and programs.

The traditional bazaar opens at 9:00 a.m. Come early and enjoy coffee and Breakfast Sliders.

The Women of the Church (WOC) prepare gift items for all ages including hand knit and crocheted items, fun items for your pets, Christmas decorations and center pieces perfect for your home use or gift giving.  The frozen entrées are great to help you through the busy holiday season.  Designer cupcakes and homemade sweets, as well as coffee and muffin mixes will satisfy the sweet tooth! The Women of the Church (WOC) cook book, “Cooking With Spirit,” featuring some of the best recipes from church members will also be available.  New addition this year is the ‘Jewelry Box’ that includes vintage and recycled jewelry!

Global Market

Location: Winter Park Presbyterian Church, Winter Park Fl

Get a jump on holiday shopping during Winter Park Presbyterian Church’s annual Global Market: Saturday, November 12, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Sunday, November 13, from noon to 2 p.m.

The market will take place inside Fellowship Hall at the church.

A Winter Park tradition for more than 20 years, the Global Market event offers shoppers an opportunity to purchase useful and unique items while assisting with efforts to help others locally and internationally. Non-profit organizations will be selling a variety of items, such as plants, home décor items, jewelry, Christmas ornaments, toys, food and crafts. Participating organizations include Heifer Project, Global Crafts, Serrv, African Team Ministries, Alliance for International Reforestation – Guatemala (AIR) and others. All funds collected will support these organizations.
