Cornerstone Hospice Volunteer Training-Day 2
If you have the instinct to help your neighbors in need, please consider volunteering with Cornerstone Hospice. According to The Hospice Foundation of America, volunteers in hospice find it personally gratifying, intellectually stimulating, and emotionally meaningful to assist those in need at a critical point in their lives. Hospice volunteers consistently report that helping the terminally ill through hospice is not about dying, but about living.
Cornerstone Hospice is licensed to serve patients in seven counties in the heart of Central Florida. (Hardee, Highlands, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Polk, and Sumter.) Volunteers are an important part of the team at our hospice, and we are always looking for new folks to join us. It makes no difference whether you are a retiree, a student, or a professional; male or female; young or old: we believe everyone has something to offer to our patients and families. All Cornerstone Hospice volunteers provide valuable services: whether you are helping scan medical records in the office, sewing a “memory bear” for a bereaved family, staffing a Cornerstone Hospice table at a community event, or comforting an ill patient while providing much-needed respite for a caregiver, your gift of time and presence completes the circle of care circle of care that makes hospice unique.
Training is required. Call 407.304.2604 for more information, or check out Cornerstone Hospice.
