The Great Duck Derby coming up on Saturday, April 22, 10 am – 2 p.m. at Mead Botanical Garden in Winter Park. A great way to celebrate Earth Day with your children in the great outdoors!
The Derby is a family fun day in the Garden featuring little rubber duck races in the pond and tons of kid-friendly, fun activities. Best of all — it’s just $5 to adopt and “duckorate” a race duck. All other activities are FREE! Duck adoption and other activities start at 10 a.m. Gates to the Garden open at 9:30 a.m.
Race schedule starts with the Big Beautiful Sponsor Duck race at 11 a.m., followed by a series of little duck races with kid-friendly prizes awarded to the winners.

- Baby chick and bunny animal encounter
- Nature hikes and scavenger hunts
- Silly song sing-along with Mr. Harley
- Bounce houses
- Magic bean planting actiivity
- Face painting
- The Winter Park Fire Department’s big red engine
- Arts, crafts, games and more!
Pack a picnic or grab lunch or a sweet treat from food trucks, including Jeremiah’s! You can also enter drawing to win free week at Mead’s Young Naturalist Summer Camp. All in all, it’s a great way to spend the day in the great outdoors and celebrate Earth Day, too!
