Assistant Program Director
I am the Assistant Program Director. I work with Dean O'Neal to do music scheduling and research, help develop the programming plan for the year, and do work on-air for both the Z88.3 and 88.3-HD3 THE ROCK.
I started in July of 2006.
I see my biggest influence in the relationships I have built both inside and outside the ministry. I try hard to be a friend to everyone on the staff, and help listeners in anything they may need. It has been something I have enjoyed every minute of, so far!
Both our children are adopted and when my wife and I traveled to get our daughter in China a few years ago, we took our son who was 3½ at the time. He has very curly hair and brown skin, so we were told by our guides in China that people would be very curious about him because they do not see many people who are not Chinese. They warned us they would want to see him, touch his hair and more. Well we went with a tour group to a museum and a group of teenage girls came up to us. One of the large group asked us, through broken English, if they could take a photo of our son Eli. We said yes and posed... then all of a sudden, the whole group gathered around us to pose with us too! They proceeded to take turns getting the shot with all 20 or so of us in it. (20 Different Photos!) THEN they wanted to touch his hair and rub his head and began hugging him and fawning all over him! Needless to say they were all very sweet young girls, who were very excited, but for Eli it was quite overwhelming! We still laugh about it to this day, because we now know what it would be like to travel with a famous rock star or movie star... because that is exactly how they treated him!
I really like the new artists we are getting to know these days. Artists like StorySide:B, Grey Holiday, Mandisa, or Robbie Seay Band... but my all-tim favorites would have to be Steven Curtis Chapmen (first Christian concert I ever saw), Bebo Norman (known him for years before he was famous) and Chris Tomlin (one of the more talented singer/songwriters ever!) I also like a lot of FUN music from artists who break down the barriers of typical Christian music, like Toby Mac and Kirk Franklin.
Chinese Food and Ice Cream (though never at the same time!)
I would have to say that as much as my wife and I love to travel, and have gone all over the United States, the most exciting location I have ever been to, was our trip to China when we adopted our daughter. It was not at all what I had expected and I loved every minute of it. Whether we were visiting a thousand year old family temple or the new 3 story Walmart we shopped in, there was not a moment where I did not enjoy the wonder of being in such a unique culture.
Greece and/or Italy. I have always heard people say they want to visit Paris or London, but for me, the most beautiful romantic looking place in the world is Greece or Italy. That is one place I have always wanted to go.
WAY TOO MANY TO COUNT! (I was an army brat, moved about 19 times before I was 10... then in radio I have moved many times since!)
eBay.com, iTunes.com, Amazon.com, Best Buy, Home Depot and Walmart!
I have to say that I am still a BIG fan of Survivor, I love the show LOST and I am really starting to enjoy HEROS too!
