Your One Word for 2014

Not a resolution.  Not a 10-step-plan.

For 2014, how about just one word as the vision from God for your new year?

A Father’s Love

I wasn’t sure what to title this post – I decided on ”A Father’s Love” because it’s the words of Carly’s father that pierce my heart each time I watch this video.  If you have friends on the autism spectrum that have never communicated with you, please don’t stop loving and communicating with themHere’s the link to my Facebook page with Carly’s video

Take what you get, and don’t throw a fit! haha

“Take what you get, and don’t throw a fit” is what my Facebook friend Stacey Oldham tells her family when it comes to what she serves for dinner.  Tonight, when I asked, “What do you want for dinner?” - I got a request for burgers, spaghetti, and mac-n-cheese – and some tears when I said no to cooking all of them.  If you cook for several people each night, do you custom order or do they all get the same thing?  Comment here on my Facebook page – hugs, Lis

Prayers for the Warren family

Words from an email that Rick Warren sent out today about his 27-year-old son Matthew…

“He had a brilliant intellect and a gift for sensing who was most in pain or  most uncomfortable in a room. He’d then make a bee-line to that person to engage  and encourage them,” he continued. “But only those closest knew that he  struggled from birth with mental illness, dark holes of depression, and even  suicidal thoughts. In spite of America’s best doctors, meds, counselors, and  prayers for healing, the torture of mental illness never subsided. Today, after  a fun evening together with Kay and me, in a momentary wave of despair at his  home, he took his life.”

Send the Warrens a message via Facebook here…

The Purpose Driven Life is the  best-selling hardback non-fiction book in history and the second most-translated  book in the world, after the Bible.  Rick has also pastored for 33 years at Saddleback Church in California.

Don’t forget to pray for this family that serves God and His people.  Your prayers are the best and most powerful comfort you can give them now.
