Melony McKaye

Middays, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Biography

Born and raised in Fargo, North Dakota, (oh for cold!), Melony’s first solo radio show premiered on New Year’s Eve 1985 on her college radio station.  She was a nervous wreck, but LOVED it!  Her father is still amazed that she has taken her “gift of gab” and made a paying career out of it. Melony made Jesus the Lord of her life when she was in college. Her life certainly hasn’t been perfect, and she enjoys sharing every aspect of the journey together with you.  Melony says, “Even though He knows everything about us, His love for us is still perfect and unfailing. My prayer is that everyone would know His love, mercy and grace and the freedom, hope and joy it alone brings.”

After college, Melony took her first full-time radio job as a promotions director and midday announcer spinning 45′s (remember those?). She has since worked as a music director, promotions director and program director working with all types of formats including lite rock, country, oldies, news/talk, classic rock and, her personal favorite, contemporary Christian. Melony has lived in Fargo, St. Cloud, Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Palm Springs, California, and Orlando.

Melony and her husband David, a free lance musician and music instructor, are enjoying the growing family God has blessed them with. They affectionately call themselves the McKaye 3-ring circus, as all three kids were born within 4 years! If you see them at events, you’ll know Abigail because she thinks she’s the boss, Micheala, will charm your socks off and Christian will try to engage you in a game of Duck, Duck, Goose just so he can run.  And we can’t forget to mention Josie, the people-loving, carpet eating, energetic beagle. All together, they give Melony lots to share about.
