Take pART 2019
A Festival of the Arts
Saturday, June 29, 2019 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. st.lukes.org/TakepART

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – CALL FOR ARTISTS
All artists are invited to submit artwork for display in the Fine Art Gallery section of the 2nd Annual Take pART 2019 Festival of the Arts!

FINE ART GALLERY
The Fine Art Gallery is an opportunity to feature the artwork of local artists from the Central Florida community as a component of Take pART 2019. St. Luke’s values acceptance, hospitality, and community and looks forward to offering a nurturing and encouraging environment for artists to share their gifts. The Fine Art Gallery will be located in Santos Hall (common area outside of Founder’s Hall in Building C). The sale of artwork during this event will not be permitted, however, St. Luke’s will provide a table so that participating artists may display their business cards, promotional materials, and/or event fliers.

THEME
This year’s theme: “Togetherness” is inspired by St. Luke’s core value of Community. One dictionary defines “togetherness” as: the pleasant feeling of being united with other people in friendship and understanding.

The Fine Art Gallery at Take pART 2019 will showcase what this phrase means to you, the artist. Does it make you think of an inclusive community? Does it inspire feelings of joy and celebration? All artwork submitted should exemplify “togetherness.”

ARTISTS
If you are interested in participating, please email digital images of your artwork (preferably in .jpeg format) to dleonard@st.lukes.org by the submission deadline Saturday, June 15. All artists are encouraged to submit up to two pieces of artwork. If submitting two pieces of artwork, please include them in the same email with “Fine Art Gallery Submissions” in the subject line.

Please include the following information in your submission:

Title of Artwork
Medium
Size
Artist Name and Phone Number

ARTWORK
St. Luke’s values the time, talent, and contributions of artists. Take pART 2019 is a juried show. Due to space limitations and the number of submissions, not all artwork can be featured at the event. They will, however, do their best to include as much artwork as possible. All artwork must be family friendly and should relate to this year’s theme: Togetherness.

For this year’s event, only two-dimensional (painting, photography, drawing, etc.) artwork can be accepted. As this event grows, St. Luke’s hopes to include three-dimensional (sculpture, pottery, jewelry arts, etc.) artwork and the materials to properly display and secure those types of artwork.

Adults and children of all ages are encouraged to submit artwork. Please make sure that all accepted artwork is wired and ready for hanging when delivered to St. Luke’s.

IMPORTANT DATES
Submission deadline is Saturday, June 15.
Artists will be notified of acceptance by Friday, June 21.
Accepted artwork must be delivered to St. Luke’s on Friday, June 28 between the hours of 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
The Fine Art Gallery will be open during the entire Take pART Festival on Saturday, June 29 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Artists participating in the Fine Art Gallery will be allowed to take their work home with them on June 30 after 1:00 p.m.

Artists, their family, and friends are extended an extra special welcome to attend a service at St. Luke’s during the month of June as the church celebrates the arts each week with special showcases during each worship service. Artists can learn more about St. Luke’s on Sunday morning, June 16 at an official Meet-n-Greet. Campus tours will be offered at 9:05 a.m., 10:35 a.m., and 12:05 p.m. leaving from the Special Events Dining Room on the first floor of Building C. To RSVP for this free event, email connect@st.lukes.org.

CELEBRATE
All artists featured in the Fine Art Gallery are encouraged to attend Take pART 2019. Artists may check in with the curator at any time during the event to receive their name tag. All participating artists are encouraged to invite their friends and family to join in the celebration. St. Luke’s seeks to foster a shared sense of community and creative encouragement through the joy of art.
