2019 HOWL-O-WEEN Dog Walk-a-Thon and Canine Costume Contest

Franklin’s Friends is proud to present the sixth annual HOWL-O-WEEN Dog Walk-a-Thon and Canine Costume Contest on October 26 from 9 am to noon at Secret Lake Park in Casselberry.  The event will feature a leisurely dog walk, canine costume contest, adoptable dogs, pet-friendly vendors, raffles and more! Registration is $20 per person in advance; $25 at the door or FREE if you raise $100. 41st Annual Buick Olds Pontiac Cadillac Car Show and Swap Meet


Location: Downtown City Park, Auburndale FL

The 41st Annual BOPC Car Show and Swap Meet with all years, makes, and models of Buicks, Oldsmobiles, Pontiacs, and Cadillacs will be held Saturday, October 26, 2019, 9:30 am – 2:30 pm, at Downtown City Park, 119 W. Park St., Auburndale FL 33823.

A voluntary Charity Auction and 50/50 raffle will benefit Florida Sheriffs’ Youth Ranches.  Show sponsor is the Olds Club of Florida.  The Olds Club is a state-wide organization.

All Swap Meet items will need to be displayed on Vendor provided tables.

Free admission to spectators, $25 fee for car exhibitors.  Awards will be given for the top 10 of each class with participant judging.

Metalsmithing 101 Workshop


Location: Studios of Cocoa Beach, Cocoa Beach FL

Making jewelry with metal presents some unique challenges.  The Studios of Cocoa Beach is hosting Metalsmithing 101 with Karol Bobb on Saturday, October 26 from 10 am to 4 pm.  In this beginning metalsmithing workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of jewelry-making including layout, sawing, filing, wire work, dapping, texturing, stamping, finishing and patinas. Just a few tools and supplies are needed for each student to create a cherished work of art!

 

Karol Bobb is an artist, instructor, and arts advocate who works in Pastels, Acrylics, and Metals as well as Mixed Media.  Her style of multi-layered expression is influenced by formal training as a graphic designer.  The subject matter often reflects her experiences and exposure to different cultures.  Her work can be viewed at:  goinglogo.wix.com/karol

 

The class will be held at the Studios of Cocoa Beach, 165 Minuteman Causeway in downtown Cocoa Beach.  Fee is $75. plus a $6 supply fee.  Register online at www.studiosofcocoabeach.org   Students should bring a ball peen hammer, needle file and a Dremel tool if they have one.
