It Takes A Village – Benefitting Samaritan Village
Samaritan Village is a 12-year-old, non-profit organization that provides holistic, trauma-informed care for adult, female survivors of sex trafficking at safe houses in the Orlando area.
Samaritan Village’s upcoming awareness event, It Takes a Village, will take place on October 14th at 7pm (virtually).
Here is a message from the Executive Director: “Like many nonprofits, the need is greater than ever right now. Though the pandemic has slowed our ability to host in-person education events, the need for trauma-informed services for sex trafficking survivors is higher than ever. During the last two years, an increase in online activity has created more opportunities for traffickers to groom young women to be trafficked, but resources for victims have failed to meet the growing demand.
Samaritan Village is dedicated to supporting women who are survivors of sex trafficking, and this fundraiser is what makes that possible! This is our biggest event of the year, and your support could make all the difference. Our annual virtual event last year received over 2,000 views and continues to generate awareness on the issue of human trafficking in our region.
With the funds we generated from last year’s event, we were able to expand our impact by opening a second safe house in Orlando, and we believe this event will be even more meaningful to our Central Florida community.
We hope you will be able to attend this virtual event to learn more about how Samaritan Village is supporting survivors of sex trafficking in the Orlando area.”
