The Lake County Run Club is intended for all ages and backgrounds no matter your experience with running or walking. The LCRC is a group where you can come to connect with others in the community around the common purpose of wanting to improve your health, and to lead as a good example for our youth.
The ENTIRE family is encouraged to come! As a matter of fact, you don’t even have to run! After the warm-ups, feel free to run, jog, walk, rollerblade, cycle, or any other activity of your choice. The goal is to be active for 30 minutes.
Starting November 6th, the LCRC will meet every Saturday at 10am at the Lake Hiawatha Preserve, 450 N. Lake Minneola Shores, Clermont, FL 34711.
It costs nothing to participate, but it’s recommended that you register prior to attending. You only need to do this once, and if you’re unable to do so beforehand, then they will provide you with the registration/waiver on Saturday!
You may be asking, “what should I bring?” and that’s a great question! Participants are encouraged to bring water, watch/stopwatch, headphones if desired, and be sure to wear running shoes and clothing to accommodate weather. You may also want to take advantage of a mobile app (MapMyRun, Nike+ Running, CardioTrainer, or RunKeeper) to keep track of your own performance.
Time of Events:
–Warm-ups begin at 10:05am
-Begin running (or activity of your choice) at 10:15
-Run for 15 minutes out, and 15 minutes back for a total of 30 minutes (This way we can warm-up, start, stretch and cool down together)
-10:50 – cool down, stretches and high-fives!
