I don’t know about you, but every year about this time I am overwhelmed with Christmas lists and the busyness of the season. This Christmas, I’ve been challenged to slow down and really search out ways to love on others in our community. My family is hoping to spread Christmas joy and the love of Jesus through serving.
Our dear friends, Joel and Becky Hunter with Community Resource Network, are helping me to see that there are many in our community who could use help. I have realized that my perception of homelessness is narrow. Sometimes it’s the person living on the streets and sometimes it looks like families just like yours and mine who are staying at a hotel or living out of their car. Their kids go to school with my kids and no one ever knew.
As I continue to learn, I’m thankful that there are great not-for-profits who are already loving and serving others well. I want to help, and I would love for you to join me. Together we can make a difference serving. Join Ellis and me for our first ever 12 Days of Serving where we’ll highlight ways your family can help throughout the Christmas season. Starting December 1, listen weekday mornings at 7:45 a.m. as we check in with non-profits and learn about the need in our community together.
