Song of the Shadows: A Lenten Cantata

The earthy life of Christ began in the shadows. By the flickering of a candle flame in a rugged stable, the Light of the World delivered himself into our darkness. In the shadows of ancient temples, in the shadows of the upper room, in the midnight of Gethsemane, and past Pilate’s court, we see Jesus walk through the valley of the shadow of death as he embraces the cross. As we confront the “dark night of the soul,” we can always find comfort in this: That wherever there are shadows, there is also light. Come and experience the powerful invitation to the love and sacrifice of Christ through expressive choral singing provided by combined choirs of First Church and Coronado United Methodist on Sunday, March 23 at 7:00 PM. A love offering of $10 is requested.
