This is your opportunity to honor cancer survivors, remember those we have lost and raise funds and awareness to fight back and help end cancer forever.

Show Me Some Glee

Location: Cornerstone Charter Academy, Orlando Florida

Non profit arts organization Central Florida Community Arts (CFCArts) is presenting Show Me Some Glee!, performed by members of their Children and Youth Arts program.

Songs from the beloved hit TV show appear live on stage as the talented triple threat performers in our Youth Program (grades 7 – 12) hit the stage in this fun, high-energy musical production. Led by a professional music director and choreographer, our actors will sing and dance to the top of the charts…and into your hearts.

Show Me Some Glee! will be held at Cornerstone Charter Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9th and Saturday, May 10th. General Admission tickets are $10 each, and children age 12 and under will be admitted for free. Tickets are on sale now at CFCArts.

Joshua Vickery, founder and Executive Director of Central Florida Community Arts, created the organization to create opportunity for artists of all ages to come together and perform. Ticket prices to CFCArts’ shows are intentionally kept low to help make the arts accessible and affordable. Proceeds of all tickets purchased will go to the Central Florida Community Arts organization, which also includes a string ensemble of their Central Florida Community Orchestra, multiply-themed community choirs, age-specific Children & Youth Arts programs and the CFCArts School of Performing Arts.

Central Florida Community Arts (CFCArts) is a tax exempt 501(c)(3) entity whose mission is to create a cultural platform where every person of every age can join an artistic family and connect, serve and perform to advance the arts in Central Florida. Besides producing seasonal concerts, the heartbeat of CFCArts is to give back to the community by partnering with local non-profits and performing, for free, at their fundraisers or for the clients they serve. Immediate future plans include their monthly Spotlight Series, as well as the continuing Spring 2014 seasons of the organization’s Community Choir, Classical Choir, Gospel Choir, String Orchestra, Wind Orchestra, Children & Youth programs and extended classes in their School of Performing Arts.

Unglued Women's Conference with Lysa Terkeurst

This year on the weekend of May 9th & 10th, we’re inviting you to attend Unglued and grow unafraid of becoming unmasked. Our guest speaker is Lysa TerKeurst who admits that she, like most women, has experiences where others bump into her happy and she comes emotionally unglued. What do we do with these raw emotions? We stuff, we explode, or react somewhere in between, but is it really possible to make emotions work for us instead of against us? The answer is a resounding YES! In her Spirit-led inspiring and practical way, Lysa a “sold out to saying yes to God” speaker, author and President of Proverbs 31 Women, will enable us to discover how to have right responses in the midst of raw emotions.

The Run 4 Mom 5k is being hosted by the National Jr. Beta Club of Trinity Christian School, Apopka, FL. Proceeds from this race will go to the following charities: Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Central Florida, Save the Manatee® Club, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Because Mother’s Day is the next day, this is a great opportunity to show love for your mom and donate to some local charities.
