Upward Sports - Basketball and Cheerleading

Location: Celebration K-8 Gym, Kissimmee FL

Join over 175 Kindergarten – 7th grade athletes as they play and cheer for eight weeks on Saturday mornings in the months of January and February. Evaluations are November 18 and November 20 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Celebration K-8 Gym. Practices will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 -7:30 p.m. during the months of November and December. Games begin on Saturday, January 10.

Cost: $95 with scholarships and multi child discounts available. Register online at Upward Sports.

Brevard's Tackle for Change

Location: Merritt Island High School, Merritt Island FL

Sundance Ranch Christian Counseling Center is hosting a football extravaganza as Merritt Island High School football players take on the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office to increase awareness for anti-bullying and suicide prevention. The event takes place on at 7:00 p.m. at Merritt Island High School with tickets costing $3 for students and $6 for adults. Come out and join us for a family friendly night of entertainment, music, food, and fun!

  • Note: National Anti-Bullying Week is Nov. 17 through Nov. 23. Teenage bullying victims are 93% more likely to commit suicide. In 2014 currently suicide is ranked as the #2 leading cause of death in Florida for ages 10-24 years old. According to the Florida Suicide Prevention Coalition in 2013 a total of 2, 892 people died of suicide in Florida alone. That is almost 8 people per day whose deaths could have been 100% preventable!

Original Herrmann's Royal Lipizzan Stallions of Austria

Location: Grand Oaks Resort, Lady Lake FL

Leesburg Sunrise Rotary is proud to announce that The Original Herrmann’s Royal Lipizzan Stallions of Austria, under the direction of Gabriella Herrmann, will return to Grand Oaks Resort from November 21-23, 2014. All performances are at 2 p.m. These horses are descendants of the famous stallions rescued by General Patton at the end of World War II, and their performance has been described as “Equine Ballet.”

Seating in the covered arena is limited. We recommend you bring a lawn chair.

FPEA Special Needs Struggling Learner Homeschool Conference

We are excited to invite you to join us at the 2nd annual Special Needs Struggling Learner Homeschool Conference on November 21-22, 2014 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando. The 2013 Conference was a huge success with several hundred attendees from all over the country.

The FPEA strives to serve all homeschool families and those interested in homeschooling. We believe every child should learn without boundaries.

The FPEA serves thousands of homeschooling families in Florida, and beyond, delivering a wealth of support, guidance and information to both new and longtime home educators. The “FPEA Experience” involves a banding together of homeschoolers to accomplish the task of developing academic and personal excellence by sharing resources, creating connections, enhancing relationships and breaking down barriers. Acknowledging there is no one “right” way to educate, the FPEA acts as an ambassador and champion, serving and protecting the rights and choices of all homeschoolers.

All of Dickens’ classic characters take the stand in this heartwarming family comedy that ends once again (surprise, surprise!) in triumphant redemption.
