Shark Stride 5K: A Charity Event for Guatemala

Location: Nova Southeastern University, Orlando FL

Shark Stride 5K Charity Event: Superheroes for Guatemala

Looking for a fun 5K to run for a great cause??

Mark your calendars!

Nova Southeastern University’s Physician Assistant class of 2018 will be hosting the annual Shark Stride 5K charity event on June 24th, 2017 at the NSU Orlando campus.

This fundraising event will support our mission of helping the under served communities in Guatemala on our upcoming medical mission trip in August 2017. As physician assistant students, we have the incredible opportunity to serve the remote villages of Guatemala that are unable to receive adequate medical care. The majority of the patients we will see have never been provided medical care. As we provide care, we will also be educating specific individuals within the community and providing them with medical knowledge and supplies, so they can administer basic treatment after we leave. We will also be building stoves in homes for families in the community while on our trip.

The theme of our 5K event will be SUPERHEROS and we will be handing out a prize to the best dressed participant. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes for runners of the competitive wave at 7:30. Shirts included in registration.  Along with the Superhero fun, there will also be a bounce house, face painting, corn hole, snow cones, food, and more!
