Mother Knows Best CabaretLocation: Central Florida Community Arts, Orlando Florida Central Florida Community Arts is a non-profit organization who strives to make the arts as accessible to as many people as possible while connecting with other non profit organizations. One of the ways we do this is by offering tickets to our performances at a low cost of $10 or less. Central Florida Community Arts’ monthly cabaret series continues in May with the one and only Katy Willis starring in a Mother’s Day themed show entitled Mother Knows Best. No stranger to the stage, Katy has spent the past decade entertaining throughout the country and beyond, from theme parks in Florida, to theaters in Minnesota and New York City, to a three-year stint as an entertainer on the Disney Cruise Line. After playing “Kate McGowan” in CFCArts’ Titanic – The Musical in September 2012, Katy took on her most recent and favorite role – that of being a mother – when her son Ethan John, who was the inspiration for her cabaret theme, was born six weeks after the end of the run of Titanic. Reserved seating can be purchased in advance for $12 online or General Admission seating can be purchased for $10 at the door (cash/check only). For further information about Central Florida Community Arts or its monthly cabaret series, please visit the website at Central Florida Community Arts or contact CFCArts Founder and Executive Director Joshua Vickery at 407.937.1800. Veterans Outreach Foundation Charity Golf TournamentLocation: Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge, Winter Garden FL “Join us as we give back to those who gave so much for all of us!” The Veterans Outreach Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and assisting Military Veterans from all generations and all walks of life, is sponsoring its 2nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament. Players, sponsors, and donors… step up and help “give back” to our beloved Veterans, whose sacrifices carried out our country’s objectives to keep us safe and free. Our event will be held at the award-winning Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge, on the unique Panther Lake course–a course of natural beauty, designed with rolling meadows, through native pines, around and over wetlands, lakes, and up and down elevation changes of up to 60 feet. Net proceeds raised from this event will benefit the Haley House Fund, a nonprofit volunteer organization, founded to relieve the social and economic strain on families of Active Duty and Veterans being treated for life-threatening diseases and trauma at James A. Haley VA Medical Center in Tampa. As the busiest of the five Polytrauma Centers in the country, this regional facility specializes in Spinal Cord Injury, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Blast Injury treatment programs. For families living over 50 miles away from the center and qualifying for aid based on income limits, the Haley House Fund provides local lodging and transportation to and from the hospital so that Veterans can be with their families and loved ones during their complex, long-term treatment. The Veterans Outreach Foundation takes special pride that all of our staff and members are volunteers, and 100% of net proceeds go directly to support the needs of our abled and disabled Veterans. For information, please call us at 407.437.5922 or visit our event website at the The Veterans Outreach Foundation, Inc. View Map & Details |
