Inspire: Living the Light Women's Conference 2017

Location: First United Methodist Church of Melbourne, Melbourne Florida

An Invitation From Rev. Dionne C. Hammond, Co-Pastor, First Church Melbourne

Sometimes life can throw us a curve ball and the feeling of darkness settles over our lives. We forget that the presence of Christ, the Light of the World, always is with us. I would like personally to invite you to join me and a host of other women for a weekend of hope, laughter, fun, and story that resets our present lives, renews our faith, reminds us of God’s love, and reenergizes us for our future! Together, we will hear from Lucille O’Neal’s story, mother of four including NBA player Shaquille O’Neal, on her journey from darkness to light and the impact she is having on our world today. Our worship leader is Dawn Elise Salmons, a wonderful spirit-led musician that has a vibrant faith and is a mother of three young children. Together with stories of inspiration and breakout sessions that are enriching and fun, we will be inspired to live the light of Jesus! We hope you will invite your friends and register together. Inspiration is around the corner … don’t miss it!

Workshop: Introduction to Stephens Ministry

Location: Ocoee Oaks United Methodist Church, Ocoee FL

Pastors want to provide ongoing care to everyone who needs it—and a team of lay caregivers can make that a reality. Equipping laypeople to minister to hurting people is a highly effective and biblical way to ensure that those in need of Christ-centered care receive it.

This half-day event will show how to realize that vision. In three sessions, you and your team will deepen your vision for care and outreach, gain hands-on ministry skills through a sample of Stephen Minister training, and learn how to bring the life-changing benefits of Stephen Ministry to your congregation and community.
