Project Dance Orlando

Location: Lake Eola Park, Orlando FL

Project Dance® is a movement of dancers seeking to positively impact culture through artistic integrity. Our desire is to see every dancer nurtured to their fullest human potential for their own well being and their contribution to the world. We offer training, education, and performance opportunities for dancers worldwide who desire to dance with integrity to inspire.

The centerpiece of every Project Dance event is our Open Air Dance Concert. Historically, we have taken dance out of the studios and theaters and onto the streets, making dance accessible to anyone and everyone. We desire to use this family-friendly concert to bring hope and healing to hearts through the universal language of dance. Jazz, modern, ballet, tap, hip-hop, acrobatics, lyrical, ballroom, and swing have all graced our stages. Every style is welcome and what unites dancers who gather for Project Dance is the desire to dance with integrity to inspire. Dance has a way of reaching our innermost being and the pieces presented often reflect that understanding.

Relay For Life of Dr. Phillips

Location: Chain of Lakes Middle School, Orlando FL

Members of the Dr. Phillips, International Drive, Metrowest, and Millennia communities of Orlando will fight back against cancer at the annual American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Dr. Phillips event on April 11 at 5:00 p.m. at the Chain of Lakes Middle School.

The Relay For Life program is a community event where teams and individuals set up campsites at a school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team has at least one participant on the track at all times. This year’s event is sponsored by Lockheed Martin.

Teams will host tents featuring food, merchandise, and activities for donations. The money raised supports groundbreaking cancer research, education and prevention programs, and critical services for people facing cancer.

Throughout the 16 hours, live entertainment and activities will keep the crowd going strong. The event is family-friendly and free to the community. Visitors are asked to think green, and carpool, bicycle or walk to the event when possible.

For more information, visit Relay for Life or the Relay for Life Facebook page or call the American Cancer Society at: 1.800.227.2345.

Location: Calvary Assembly, Winter Park Florida

Non profit arts organization Central Florida Community Arts (CFCArts) proudly presents Swamped, as performed by members of the Beginners Program (Kindergarten through 2nd grade) of their Children and Youth Arts program.

The swamp is all a-buzz with party preparations galore! Naturally, the turtles are running late, and Bully the Frog is being a bully. The frogs have learned a new dance they want to share. The tadpoles are growing appendages (yikes!) and the dragonfly larvae need encouragement to spread their wings and fly. Lessons of friendship, tolerance, courage to face the future, and more, abound!

Swamped will be performed at Calvary Assembly, 1199 Clay Street, Winter Park, FL 32789 at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 11. General Admission tickets are $10 each, and children age 12 and under will be admitted for free.
