Conversations You Should be Having With Your Doctor - and How to Have Them

The Counsel for Caregivers Seminar Series is a monthly program intended to help caregivers find answers to their questions. The objectives for this session include:

• What things are not as important to talk about with my doctor?  I don’t want to waste my doctor’s time.
• I can never remember my aches and pains when I’m with my doctor and only remember them once I’m home. What should I do?
• I’m too embarrassed to talk about certain areas of my body with my doctor, how do I overcome this?
• Should I talk to my medical doctor only about issues concerning my physical health?  Why is mental health and sadness so important to mention?
• From a healthcare provider standpoint, what are the top things you want to know about your patients? Does this differ by age? Does it differ by illness?
• What about if I’m in the hospital?  Why is this information so important to my doctor?

Vacation Bible School

Our circus themed Vacation Bible School will begin on Thursday, June 20 and end Saturday, June 22.  Times for Thursday and Friday is 6-8:30 p.m.  On Saturday VBS will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m. Participating children will enjoy a time of praise and worship, crafts, games, a meal and Bible study.  The kids will be learning how Jesus gives us “The greatest life on earth.” Children will be divided up into the following age groups: 4-6, 7-9 and 10-11. A picnic open to the community will take place on Sat from 12:30-3 p.m. immediately following VBS. All are invited to stay and enjoy hamburgers, hotdogs, bounce houses and more. Central Florida Community Orchestra presents Of Stories and Songs, an all-new immersive concert experience unlike anything you’ve ever seen or heard!

Combining the power of unforgettable music with evocative storytelling, state-of-the-art lighting, and dramatic staging, this orchestra concert will change how you feel about instrumental music.  Of Stories and Songs will feature Mussourgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain, music from Harry Potter, highlights from Jurassic Park, as well as many other selections that will bring to life the characters, settings, and action of great literature like Moby Dick, The Odyssey, and Sherlock Holmes.  We invite you to relax and immerse yourself in the emotional and exciting world of these stories and let your imagination soar!

VBS

We are excited to announce our VBS dates, Saturday June 22nd, beginning at 10 a.m., we have our ‘kick-off’. Lots of fun, games, prizes and great family time. Our VBS week is Monday June 24th through Friday June 28th, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 pm.

We will celebrate our ‘Finale’ the last day, Friday, June 28th. Parents, friends and neighbors, we invite you to come to the finale and see what your children have learned and enjoy the program they have enjoyed creating for you!
