Winning Women for Christ is hosting their 2014 Annual Fall Retreat, “You Are Loved,” October 17-19 at beautiful Epworth by the Sea on St. Simons Island, Georgia. Based out of the Daytona Beach area, Winning Women for Christ is a non-profit interdenominational retreat dedicated to helping women of today broaden their knowledge and develop their skills so that they may more fully realize their God given potential as Christian women.

Seminole County Save the MudWalk 5K Fun Run/Walk

Location: Soldiers Creek Park, Longwood FL

The Friends of the Environmental Studies Center is hosting its fourth annual 5K Save the MudWalk Fun Run/Walk on Oct. 18. The family-friendly race begins at 8 a.m. in Soldiers Creek Park. On-site registration starts at 7 a.m. The route continues along the Cross Seminole Trail through Spring Hammock Nature Preserve to Big Tree Park and back. The race is mud-free, but runners will get to dig in to a FREE pancake breakfast at the end of the course. In addition, the Environmental Studies Center will be open for visitors from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. The museum and Nature Store will be open, and the Native Plant Society will have native plants for sale. The Save The MudWalk Fun Run benefits the Seminole County Environmental Studies Center, which hosts about 9,500 elementary school students each year. Since 1977, students from across Seminole County have participated in environmental programs at the center, including the beloved fifth grade MudWalk. A third grade program is in its second year.

Community Garage Sale and Car Wash Fundraiser

Join Edgewater High School Eagle Marching Band for their annual Community Garage Sale and Car Wash Fundraiser. This is the perfect opportunity to earn some funds for your organization by having your members sell their gently used items. It’s also a great way for you or your children to earn some extra cash, clear out those closets and toy boxes and put some extra dollars in your pocket. Make it a family affair! Join the band and the community in support of the Edgewater Eagle Band, “The Pride of College Park”. Our Eagle Band will be selling refreshments and Kona Ice will be selling shaved ice for your enjoyment. Limited spaces are available and they are going fast! As a vendor, you are responsible for your own tables and chairs. Tents and canopies are welcome and suggested. Small businesses/personal businesses are invited to join.

We feed over 1000 people in Lake County every month, help us to continue to feed them! Join the Friends of the Poor Walk around Lake Gracie for the “Friends of the Poor Walk”. There will be water, sandwiches, dessert, door prizes, 50:50 raffle and a Free T-shirt with donation. We accept donations as well; donate cash, check, or nonperishable food at the walk, online at Friends for Poor Walk , or you can mail a check to the address on the map below. Second Annual The Hero Games

Location: Secret Lake Park, Casselberry Florida

This event is held to benefit the Wheelchair Foundation and help the lives of those in need of mobility.  A 5k and obstacle course will be included in the event as well as local food trucks in attendance.
