Wind Beneath My Wings Gala - Presented by Hand In Hand Lake County

Location: Lake Receptions, Mount Dora FL

Our 2017 Gala is only a few months away! Last year we rolled out the red carpet for our ‘Star Search’ then we grabbed our boots and cowboy hats for ‘Spurs and Sparkles’. This year we are putting the “Wind Beneath Our Wings” as we soar into our black tie affair. Come dressed to impress! We will have a very special guest with us. Bob Williamson, the author of a well known book titled, ‘Miracle On Luckie Street’ will be with us. This event is sure to fill up fast so reserve your seat or corporate table at: http://www.handinhandlakecounty.org/496-2/.

Our program is a 1-year in house addiction treatment program. We work mainly with the homeless, who have no insurance or way of paying for a program. We are supported 100% from our community and this Gala is our big fundraiser of the year. Hand in Hand is the corporation that operates His Powerhouse for men and Ruth House for women. We house 30 men, 11 women and 4 children.

Our nation is fighting a battle of epidemic proportions. 2016 resulted in a 500% increase in deaths from overdose. That means that our community is becoming less safe for us to raise our families in. We have had success in showing these individuals that there is a better way. Our goal is to return these men and women to society as productive citizens and helping us to fight this battle. Hand in Hand seeks to partner with our community as we work to make it a better place to live. Please join with us. “Together we can make a difference by bringing Hope, Healing and Recovery to those who need it most.”
