Come and join St. Luke’s Anglican Church at 815 Taylor Rd. in Port Orange for a free dinner(!) and discussion group.
We are pleased to announce the inauguration of our Thursday Evening Fellowship dinner & study program, Dinners with C.S. Lewis, on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month. Dinner will be served at 5:30pm in our kitchen/fellowship area, followed by discussion of the assigned portion of the reading. Our Fall text is “Mere Christianity” and we’d love to have you join us.
Our Fall Schedule will be as follows:
August 6th – Introduction and Preface/Forward
August 20th – Book I: Right and wrong as a clue to the meaning of the universe
September 3rd – Book II: What Christians believe
September 17th – Book III, 1-6: Virtue, parts of morality, Christian marriage
October 1st – Book III, 7-12: Forgiveness, faith, hope, charity
October 15th – Book IV, 1-5: The Trinity, time and beyond time, the analogy of the toy soldier
November 5th Book IV, 6-11: The “cost” of Christianity, niceness vs. faith, becoming a “new man”
