NAMI Lake County, Florida invites the Central Florida community to come together for its inaugural Together for Mental Health Walk on Saturday, October 10, 2026 — World Mental Health Day — at Wooten Park in Tavares, Florida.

The Together for Mental Health Walk is a community event centered around hope, connection, mental health awareness, and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health conditions. Individuals, families, churches, businesses, first responders, mental health professionals, and community organizations are invited to walk together and show their support for those impacted by mental health challenges.

As a newly launched local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), NAMI Lake County is working to expand access to free mental health education, support, advocacy, resources, and community outreach throughout Lake County.

Participation in the walk is FREE and open to the community. Participants who would like an official 2026 Together for Mental Health Walk T-shirt may receive one with a minimum $20 donation to support NAMI Lake County’s mission and future programming.

The event will also feature a Community Resource Fair, bringing together local nonprofits, mental health and behavioral health organizations, community service providers, and other resources so individuals and families can learn more about support available in Lake County.

Whether someone has personally experienced a mental health challenge, loves someone who has, works in the mental health field, or simply wants to support a more compassionate and connected community, they are invited to walk with NAMI Lake County.
