A Christmas Blessing

We are joining with Chick-fil-A and AdventHealth for Children to share a Christmas Blessing each morning this week. Today we shared Bella’s story. She is 4 years old and has Down Syndrome and epilepsy.  Bella was in the NICU for 2-3 months and had open heart surgery at 6 months. – Tyler

She is 2 years old.  She was diagnosed with cancer at AdventHealth for Children and has spent most of her life in and out of the hospital for treatments. Sophia is now cancer-free!  She’s still receiving chemotherapy to prevent cancer recurrence. – Tyler

She is 16 years old.  Brightlyn really struggled during the pandemic.  Ultimately, she was diagnosed with depression, generalized anxiety disorder, OCD, and ADHD.  Brightly and her family are so grateful for the help they got at AdventHealth for Children when she really needed it. – Tyler

After a long journey of illness and hospital visits, she was diagnosed with both Juvenile systemic arthritis and dermatitis. Her family is so thankful for Dr. Ben. Vanaiah is now thriving back at school, playing sports, and is doing amazing! – Tyler

We are joining with Chick-fil-A and AdventHealth for Children to share a Christmas Blessing each morning this week. Today we shared AJ’s story.  He’s 13 years old.  AJ started having knee pain earlier this year and was later diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a bone cancer. – Tyler

Today we shared Dream’s story.  He’s 5 years old.  Dream was born at 33 weeks.  At 10 months old, he underwent various testing and was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy.  He’s been in and out of the hospital all year but still always has a smile on his face. – Tyler

Today we shared Mia’s story. Mia is 12 years old.  Before she was born, she received a fetal diagnosis of Down Syndrome and a congenital heart defect.  Mia had two surgeries to repair her heart defect before getting her pacemaker at 6 months old. – Tyler

Today we shared De’Andre’s story. He is 8 months old.  De’Andre was born at 14 lbs 14 oz.  He had a heart defect and his intestines were outside of his stomach.  De’Andre had had four surgeries and spent over six months in the NICU. – Tyler

Today we shared Madeline’s story.  She is16 years old and has been struggling with anxiety, depression, and panic attacks for a few years.  But with the help of AdventHealth for Children, counseling, and medications, Madeline has seen tremendous success with her mental health. – Tyler

Today we shared Tyrone’s story.  He is 9 years old.  This summer, his dentist found a tumor in his gum.  A biopsy confirmed the tumor wasn’t cancerous but the team couldn’t tell how quickly it was growing.  They tried removing 90% of it.  Tyrone will have to have another surgery in the future but they are trying to wait a year. – Tyler
