This time of year can be difficult for families who have children in the hospital. I’m grateful that we get to join our Orlando area Chick-fil-A restaurants this year as they surprise a few families with a Christmas Blessing at AdventHealth for Children this Christmas Season! Join Ellis and me on weekday mornings at 9:30 a.m. December 12 through December 23 as we have the honor to share their incredible stories.

Day 1: Sophia
We are joining with Chick-fil-A and AdventHealth for Children to share a Christmas Blessing each morning this week. Today we shared Sophia’s story. She is 12 years old and was born with hydronephrosis and one kidney. At 5 years old, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. – Tyler |
Day 2: Devel
We are joining with Chick-fil-A and AdventHealth for Children to share a Christmas Blessing each morning this week. Today we shared Devel’s story. He is 5 years old and was diagnosed with hepatablastoma earlier this year. He went through several rounds of chemo and a liver transplant. – Tyler |
Day 3: PhoenixWe are joining with Chick-fil-A and AdventHealth for Children to share a Christmas Blessing each morning this week. Today we shared baby Phoenix’s story. He is 4 months old and was born at just 25 weeks, weighing 2 lbs, 1 oz. – Tyler |
Day 4: Kinslee
We are joining with Chick-fil-A and AdventHealth for Children to share a Christmas Blessing each morning this week. Today we shared Kinslee’s story. She is 4 years old and has been diagnosed with an advanced form of Juvenile Arthritis. – Tyler |
Day 5: JJ
We are joining with Chick-fil-A and AdventHealth for Children to share a Christmas Blessing each morning this week. Today we shared JJ’s story. He is 10 years old. JJ had anemia and went into cardiac arrest. His organs stopped working, he got a fungus and infection in his leg. He had to have surgery to take out a bone in his leg and his hip, which will require him to be in a wheelchair until he’s 16 when he will require another surgery to replace the bones. He has been in the hospital for more than 250 days. – Tyler |
Day 6: ChristopherWe are joining with Chick-fil-A and AdventHealth for Children to share a Christmas Blessing each morning this week. Today we shared Christopher’s story. He is 9 years old. In March 2021, Chris was diagnosed with a rare childhood cancer that forms in soft tissue, Rhabdomyosarcoma. He underwent chemo and radiation and all scans showed no cancer this past July. Just three months later, Chris started having pain and his family learned his cancer had returned. – Tyler |
Day 7: RomeoWe are joining with Chick-fil-A and AdventHealth for Children to share a Christmas Blessing each morning this week. Today we shared Romeo’s story. He is 8 months old and before he was even born, his parents found out that he was going to have a cleft lip and palate. He’s already had two surgeries and will have another after his first birthday. – Tyler |
Day 8: NoahWe are joining with Chick-fil-A and AdventHealth for Children to share a Christmas Blessing each morning this week. Today we shared Noah’s story. He is 5 years old and he’s at the hospital as he awaits a kidney transplant. – Tyler |
Day 9: AbigailWe are joining with Chick-fil-A and AdventHealth for Children to share a Christmas Blessing each morning this week. Today we shared Abigail’s story. She is 12 years old and has Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM), an abnormal connection between her arteries and veins in the brain and spine. If the malformation ruptures, it will cause bleeding in the brain and spinal cord. – Tyler |
Day 10: JJ and YaraWe are joining with Chick-fil-A and AdventHealth for Children to share a Christmas Blessing each morning this week. Today we shared the Lammie family’s story. In 2019, Shakeela found out she was pregnant with quadruplets. They lost one baby in the womb. JJ, Yara, and Mia were born at 28 weeks and all stayed in the NICU for several months. Mia was born with a floppy airway meaning the cartilage and lining of her throat wasn’t fully developed at birth. They celebrated their first birthday together in March of last year but sadly Mia passed away. – Tyler |
