Independent College Christian Life Training

INDEPENDENT COLLEGE CHRISTIAN LIFE TRAINING focuses on methods of Christian Life Management – Training targets methods of managing self, environment of living, and community. Young Adults will learn how to apply adulting in the areas of real life responsibilities including:

• Budgeting/Shopping
• Renting an Apartment
• Simple Repairs
• Godly Relationships

Trainings will be implemented via role play, group interaction, videos, humor, and guided discussions.

The Principles of The Book of Proverbs, and Godly Character will be integrated in the training(s). Upon successfully completing the Christian Life Management training, young adults will be prepared in the foundations of managing self, personal environment, contribute to progression of their community, and fulfill real life responsibilities of self and home.

Great for: College Students (Homeschooled in High School)
Great for ages 17+ and Recent High School Graduates of
Home School and Private School

Trainings are held on Fridays beginning 8/31/18-12/14/18.

Christmas in the Country - Lights Display, Hay Ride & Festival

You’ll see thousands of lights and decorations while riding the Hay Ride around River of Life’s 8 acre property. Roast marshmallows over a bonfire on the beautiful lake front. Sip Hot Cocoa next to a Giant Christmas Tree. Explorer the Mission Possible Camp maze, it’s fun for all ages, and get prizes for completing a challenge while navigating the twists and turns! Meet and get your picture taken with Santa. Join some farm friends in the Story Barn as they listen to a Holiday Tale. Check out the Ceramic Christmas Village, nativity display collection and – on certain weekends – a live band. Kids can enjoy the Forest of Fun Play Area and Much More!

Journey Through Bethlehem Experience

JOURNEY THROUGH BETHLEHEM!

This is an exciting, interactive, walk through of Bethlehem, in search of the Christ child who has been born. You will meet a tax collector and Roman guards will be your escort on your journey as you encounter Jewish families, a Scribe, The Innkeeper, the Market Place (filled with all sorts of sounds, smells, tastes and scenes), and the Wisemen until you finally find the ONE who has come! JOY TO THE WORLD!

This event is completely FREE and EVERYONE is welcome!

Outdoor, Walk-Through Living Nativity

This free event consists of continuous outdoor, walk-through tours from 6:30pm to 9:00pm.  Guests enjoy learning about significant events in the life of Jesus Christ, from his fore-telling to his death and resurrection.  There will be live actors, live animals, a beautiful nativity scene and hot chocolate served with hand-baked Christmas Cookies.  This is a free, annual event enjoyed by thousands of people over the three nights of performance (December 5, 7 and 8).

The Nutcracker Ballet, Dance Showcases at Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel

On six dates in December, the season comes alive with exclusive holiday performances at Rosen Shingle Creek, one of the region’s most luxurious resort hotels. On select Fridays (12/7, 12/14 and 12/21), sugar plum fairies, toy soldiers and dancing mice star in a special presentation of The Nutcracker Ballet by the Elizabeth Parsons School of Dance from The Windermere Community Theatre. On select Saturdays (12/8, 12/15 and 12/22), delight in a fireside showcase of contemporary tap and ballet by the School of Dance Arts of Sanford. Come for the beautiful dance performances, then stay to admire the hotel’s nonprofit holiday tree display honoring dozens of local charities. The free performances are from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m.

Benefit Concert

The  Junior Servant Leadership Class Of Forest Lake Academy is hosting a benefit on behalf of the students and staff of Paradise Adventist Academy in Paradise, California. The fundraiser is on December 7th (7pm-9pm) and will help raise money for the students and staff that are suffering tremendous losses of their property, school, churches and homes after the California fires earlier this year. Upon further contact with the principal of Paradise Adventist Academy, he’s mentioned that all they really need right now are Chromebooks for students to use in order to start back up school again. This benefit concert will hopefully be able to raise as much money as possible to help out those who are in desperate need.

Oviedo High School Performing Arts Dept. 2018 Lion Showcase

The Oviedo High School Fine Arts Department will present the annual Lion Showcase, an exciting, fast-paced show designed to entertain people of all ages.  In rapid succession, performances by the Lion Band, Color Guard, Chorus, Drama and Dance teams actually surround the audience from all sides.  Tickets are $7.00 and can be purchased at the door.
