Children's Summer Musical "A Not So Terrible Parable"

Location: Northland, A Church Distributed, Longwood FL

Northland’s Children Ministry’s newest musical is coming up- the story of the Good Samaritan as a whodunit mystery! They’d love for your children to join in the fun.

Students may participate in the choir along with being part of the acting cast.

Singers’ rehearsals will be Wednesday mornings 10-12pm from June 19-July 24 (except July 3) with dress rehearsals on Saturday, July 20 and July 27 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm.

Actors’ rehearsals will be Saturday mornings 10am-12pm from June 22-July 13 with dress rehearsals on Saturday, July 20 and July 27 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm.

Auditions for the acting parts will be held Saturday, June 15 at 10:00 am. The performance will be held Saturday, July 27 at 7:00 pm.

Open to students entering grades 1-6 in the fall.

Aladdin Jr.

Disney’s Aladdin JR. is based on the 1992 Academy-Award®-winning film and the 2014 hit Broadway show about the “diamond in the rough” street rat who learns that his true worth lies deep within. The story you know and love has been given the royal treatment! Aladdin and his three friends, Babkak, Omar, and Kassim, are down on their luck until Aladdin discovers a magic lamp and the Genie who has the power to grant three wishes. Wanting to earn the respect of the princess, Jasmine, Aladdin embarks on an adventure that will test his will and his moral character. With expanded characters, new songs, and more thrills, this new adaptation of the beloved story will open up “a whole new world” for your young performers!

Movie Classics at the Ritz Theatre: Vertigo

Location: Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center, Sanford FL

John “Scottie” Ferguson is a retired San Francisco police detective who suffers from acrophobia and Madeleine is the lady who leads him to high places. A wealthy shipbuilder who is an acquaintance from college days approaches Scottie and asks him to follow his beautiful wife, Madeleine. He fears she is going insane, maybe even contemplating suicide. He believes she is possessed by a dead ancestor. Scottie is skeptical, but agrees after he sees the beautiful Madeleine.
