Your Weight Matters Convention & Expo

Knowing how to take charge of your weight and improve your health can be a challenge. Each day you see conflicting messages and ads for new products that make you more confused. The Obesity Action Coalition (OAC), a National non-profit organization, understands this. They are here to provide you with the proper tools to begin your weight management journey.

To help you along your journey, the OAC is pleased to host its 8th Annual Your Weight Matters Convention and EXPO, August 1-3 in Tampa!

Windermere High School Marching Band Community Garage Sale

Come escape the heat and enjoy shopping for various clothing items, books, toys, games, household items and more in the Windermere High School Student Union. They will have various food trucks on hand serving breakfast and lunch throughout the day.

Back to School Bash

Join Titusville for an annual Back to School Bash Saturday, August 3, 2019 from 9:00am to 1:00pm. They will be GIVING AWAY a minimum of 1000 backpacks filled with school supplies for students K-12. Educational vendors will be available as well as a Kid Zone, and live entertainment.

CPR Training

Resplendency is hosting and offering a 2.5 hour CPR class that will be provided by ACLS Plus Education on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 9:00 AM. 

Registration for training only is $20.00.  Registration for training plus American Heart Association (“AHA”) certification is $45.00 (Training $20 plus Certification $25). 

Deadline for registration is July 10, 2019.  

You, your friends, and your family members are welcome to learn how to help others in case of an emergency.

Getting Started in Watercolors Class

This four hour workshop offers the essential basics of watercolor painting. The workshop will acquaint students with easy methods to paint bright and fresh watercolors with a limited color palette and learn to make economical decisions when purchasing supplies .  No drawing experience is necessary.  A sketch will be provided and students will apply the elements of color theory, composition, and dimensional effects to the painting.

Students are invited to bring their own supplies.  However, Ed will provide the necessary paint, paper, tissues, and watercups.  By the end of the class you will have completed a beautiful watercolor “Harbor Sunrise”  . To register for this $50 class, all Ed at 321-777-3400 or email skywinded.art@gmail.com.  You can also register online at www.studiosofcocoabeach.org.

The Studios of Cocoa Beach , 165 Minuteman Causeway , Cocoa Beach is a non-profit gallery featuring the work of 30 plus local artists. It is the creative hub of the beaches offering workshops in a variety of techniques from beginner to advanced.  The Studio is open Monday 10:30 am-3pm, Wednesday through Saturday 10:30 am-8pm and Sunday 11am-5pm. Need to Read

Sometimes, you just have a need- a need to read! That’s why Need to Read is having a huge bash on Saturday, August 3 to give away 12,000 books– not to mention 500 free backpacks for students in need!

On top of all that amazing-ness, there will also be bounce houses, food, games and more for everyone to enjoy. They’ll see you there this Saturday!

11th Annual Back to School Health Fair

FREE school supplies and FREE backpacks to the community. Free health screenings and information to children and adults. Activities for children: bounce house, face painting, balloon art and more. Children must be present to receive backpacks and school supplies. FREE Food Distribution.

4th Annual Operation Backpack

Join your community for the 4th Annual Operation Backpack at Lake Brantley High School on Saturday, Aug 3rd. Backpacks and school supplies are freely provided for students from elementary through high school age, clothing, haircuts, games and food. Come out and get your gear!

Back to School Bash

Join Christ the King Episcopal Church for their 7th Annual Back to School Bash.  FREE backpacks & school supplies to children K-12. (While supplies last, varying colors and sizes, an adult must be present with the child.)  FREE hot dog lunch, Water Slides, Dunk Tank, Games, Vehicle Safety Inspections and The Big Red Bus will be there too!
