Succulent Pumpkin Centerpiece Workshop

Location: Center for Health & Wellbeing, Winter Park FL

‘Tis the season for pumpkin everything! Join Orlando’s own FarmGal Flowers to create your very own Succulent Pumpkin, a unique and eye-catching fall decoration for your home or office. Through step-by-step and hands-on instruction, you’ll learn how to make this long-lasting fall centerpiece for your Halloween and/or Thanksgiving table.

Please bring a medium (10”-12” wide) pumpkin and a pair of floral scissors to class. Cinderella type pumpkins work best. All other materials provided. Please contact Eileen (farmgalflowers@gmail.com) for any questions.

About Eileen Tongson

Eileen Tongson is the owner of FarmGal Flowers (farmgalflowers.com), an urban flower farm and design studio. She is also one of the gardeners at East End Market where she grows flowers and helps maintain the market garden. In addition to growing her own flowers, Eileen designs arrangements for special occasions and small events. Eileen completed the University of Florida IFAS Master Gardener Program and has studied floral design at numerous locations over the years including Floret Flower Farm, the City College of San Francisco, and Flower School New York.

Eileen is also a Gardening and Floral Design instructor at Harry P. Leu Gardens and East End Market. Her flowers and gardening expertise have been featured in Edible Orlando, Florists’ Review, Houzz.com, TravelChannel.com, The Monarch Initiative, Ocala Magazine and Glam.com. Collaborations have included The Ford Motor Company, Williams-Sonoma Winter Park, the Orlando Museum of Art, the Orlando Magic and The Grove Winter Park. She continues to expand and refine her skills regularly through floral design/flower farming workshops across the country and as a member of the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers.

Dark Room Tour 2

Location: Northwest Church Auditorium, Orlando FL

Nigel “Legin”Anderson is a spoken word artist, gospel hip hop artist, podcaster and preacher/speaker who uses transparency to connect, and art to communicate with his listeners. Inspired by his father’s battle with addiction, Legin speaks about fatherlessness to forgiveness, as well as racial reconciliation and urban apologetics amongst other topics, and the hope of the gospel in his music.

Legin’s recent spoken word release Dark Room tells listeners that “pictures develop best in dark rooms” and that “all things work together” (Rom. 8:28) in the hands of God.  This Free Concert is a part of the Dark Room Tour 2.

Join the fun Friday, October 25th from 7pm-9pm as all come together and watch the new live action The Lion King on a 50ft screen on the Viera High School Football field. They’ll have special drive-in movie parking for golf carts, a family picnic area, and you will be welcome to sit on the stadium bleachers.

There will be FREE candy and popcorn as well as a food truck there with food available for purchase. They’ll also be having a pumpkin patch/photo booth area where you can take pictures with your family and will have a couple AWESOME giveaways!

Feel free to dress up (no scary costumes please) and come ready for a really fun time!

A hero’s journey involves a hero who goes on an adventure, and in a decisive crisis wins a victory, and then comes home changed or transformed. Be transformed by the power and passion of Florida’s largest symphony orchestra combined with sweeping scores and heroic music. This one-of-a-kind concert is one you and the entire family will not want to miss!

Shows will be on October 25 at 8pm and October 26 at 2pm & 7pm. Tickets start at $10.
