2020 Encounter Conference

Location: Cocoa First Assembly of God, Cocoa FL

The 2020 Encounter is a conference for Millennials between the ages of 20-40.  The conference is being held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 8:30-3:30.  There is a $30 registration fee which will include morning coffee and donuts along with lunch provided.  The conference speaker is Dr. Mike Caparrelli from Providence, Rhode Island.  Dr. Mike has a passion to bring Millennials out of their past failures, addictions and strongholds into their destiny in God.  The Encounter worship team will be lead by Darius Hughes and Devyn Arthurs.  2020 Encounter t-shirts will be on sale along with Dr. Mike’s book: Penning Your Pain into Parables.  Registration is available on the conference website: www.2020encounter.com or at the door.

Soccer Intensive for Kids

Location: WaterStone Church, Longwood FL

At WaterStone, they strive to go beyond by offering their free summer sports camp, Adventure Camp of Central Florida. They want to offer your kids a more intense training from those same professionals. February 8 is their soccer intensive hosted by Global Premier Soccer. Global trains Orlando City Soccer and partners with WaterStone during our summer sports camp. This intensive is $10 per camper. It’s a 3 hour intensive and snacks and beverages are provided.

Metalsmithing Workshop with Karol Bobb

Location: Studios of Cocoa Beach, Cocoa Beach FL

Making jewelry with metal presents some unique challenges.  The Studios of Cocoa Beach is hosting “Metalsmithing 101” with Karol Bobb on Saturday Feb 8, 2020 from 10 am to 4 pm.  In this beginning metalsmithing workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of jewelry-making including layout, sawing, filing, wire work, dapping, texturing, stamping, finishing and patinas. Just a few tools and supplies are needed for each student to create a cherished work of art!


Karol Bobb is an artist, instructor, and arts advocate who works in Pastels, Acrylics, and Metals as well as Mixed Media  Her style of multilayered expression is influenced by formal training as a graphic designer. The subject matter often reflects her experiences and exposure to different cultures.  Her work can be viewed at:  goinglogo.wix.com/karol


The class will be held at the Studios of Cocoa Beach, 165 Minuteman Causeway in downtown Cocoa Beach.  Fee is $75. plus a $6 supply fee.  Register online at www.studiosofcocoabeach.org   Students should bring a ball peen hammer, needle file and a Dremel tool if they have one. Sing! Concert to Benefit Homeless Families with Children

Location: First United Methodist Church of Clermont, Clermont FL

Clermont…    Come one, come all to Sing!, a live concert to benefit Find, Feed & Restore on Saturday, February 8th, at 3:00 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church of Clermont.  Find, Feed & Restore purchases and accepts donations of travel trailers (or funds to put towards them), to temporarily house families with children who are living in cars or tents.  The families are able to stay rent and utilities free for 4 months while receiving case management services that include financial budgeting classes, credit report education, economic meal planning, interview preparation, resume writing, and professional counseling.  After the 4-month period, the family will begin to pay lot rent and utilities for their low income supportive housing as a building block to becoming self-sufficient.  For more information about Find, Feed & Restore, visit their website at findfeedrestore.com.

Sing! will feature the extraordinary Traditional Music Program at FUMC of Clermont, who will be performing songs written by well-known Christian music composers and arrangers, Joel Raney and Mary McDonald, who will be in attendance.  This special concert is FREE to attend, but tickets are required for entry.  A love offering will be taken as a fundraiser to benefit Find, Feed & Restore and our area’s homeless families with children.  Don’t miss this chance to enjoy an amazing concert while bringing together our collective power to impact a family’s future.
