Organ Symphony at the Basilica

Location: Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe, Orlando FL

On Sunday, February 16, the University of Central Florida Symphony Orchestra will perform a free concert!

On the program will be the colossal “Organ Symphony in C Major” by Camille Saint-Saëns for organ and orchestra. This very popular piece receives fewer actual performances than expected because most concert halls built today do not contain an adequate pipe organ. The University of Central Florida Symphony Orchestra is under the direction of Dr. Chung Park. Dr. Park’s conducting has received wide critical acclaim. The Miami Herald hailed his performance of Stravinsky’s Soldier’s Tale as “masterfully directed” and his conducting of Debussy’s Afternoon of a Faun as “lucid and refined.”

More information can be found by calling 407-239-6600. The Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe is located at 8300 Vineland Avenue in Orlando, near Lake Buena Vista off I-4 (exit 68). Complimentary parking is available.
