Our Foster Parent Training will start on 1/20  thru 2/10 (4 consecutive Saturday’s from 9 am to 4 pm.

Location: Havendale Christian Church, Winter Haven FL

Havendale Christian Church is having their 1st Annual Classic Car Show on Saturday, February 17th from 8 am to 4 pm. Proceeds from the show will benefit the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter #1040. Trophies will be awarded to the top 20 cars and in multiple classes along with dash plaques for the first 100 cars. Come on out and enjoy the music & entertainment, wonderful free pie, and the amazing cars!!

Quack Attack on Poverty 5k


Location: Harbor Park in Baldwin Park, Orlando FL

Quack Attack on Poverty 5k is a professionally-timed race for runners, joggers and walkers of all ages and abilities. This unique event requires participants to wear an inflatable duck-shaped pool float through a 3.1 mile course featuring bubble, squirt gun and quack zones.

The goal of this community-based event is to raise funds and awareness for the nonprofit United Against Poverty Orlando whose mission is to inspire and empower people living in poverty to lift themselves and their families to economic self-sufficiency.

The Art of Marriage is a 2-day video event held February 16-17:  Friday night, Saturday morning and afternoon until 4:30 pm.  This event is designed to help married couples  “tune-up” their marriages, and instruct engaged couples and singles who want to know how marriages can be made awesome.

We all know families that could be doing better than they are.  Yet did you know that marriages were designed to be a blessing, and much more?  Marriage takes work, but work done the right way produces great results.

Come to the event and learn.  It starts Friday Feb 16 at 7 pm (come by 6:45 pm to pick up course material) until 9:30 pm, and Saturday from 9 am (continental breakfast at 8:30) until 4:30 pm.

Living History Day


Location: DeBary Hall, DeBary FL

History will come to life as DeBary Hall Historic Site hosts Living History Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17.

Visitors can walk the grounds and interact with historical characters, including legendary steamboat captain Jacob Brock.

The 37th Alabama Regiment Company H, a Civil War re-enactment group, will set up a camp and medical tent. They will offer presentations on Civil War weapons, life and artifacts.

Jim Sawgrass, a member of the Muscogee Creek Indian Tribe, will describe Native American culture and heritage in the Southeast. His son, Cody Boettner, will perform a Native American hoop dance.

There is no charge to attend the outdoor event. Tours of the site’s 1871 mansion will be available; admission prices are $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, $2 for children ages 3 to 12, and free for children 2 and younger.

DeBary Hall is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It’s open six days a week at 198 Sunrise Blvd., DeBary. The site is closed on Mondays.
