SeaWorld Praise Wave


Location: SeaWorld Orlando, Orlando FL

SeaWorld is excited to bring back Praise Wave for 2018. They’ll be hosting two concerts (1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.) every Saturday for four weekends. Steven Curtis Chapman will be kicking off the concert series, which begins on Saturday, January 20, and each week will feature a different Z artist. Your friend Shadow from Z88.3 Afternoons would love to see you that day. Concerts are included with general admission park tickets and your SeaWorld annual pass also includes the entire concert series. If you haven’t purchased an annual pass, you may want to look into it, because you’ll love this year’s lineup:

72 Annual Carmella Show


Location: Mead Botanical Garden, Winter Park FL

Open to All Ages – The Camellia Society of Central Florida’s 72nd annual event will feature award winning blooms from Central Florida and throughout the southeastern United States. Public viewing of the winning camellia blooms will be from 1-4 pm.

There will also be assorted varieties of specialty camellia plants for sale, tours of Mead Botanical Garden; and expert gardeners available to answer your gardening questions.

10-11 am Camellia 101 Class by Robert Bowden, Director of the City of Orlando’s Harry P. Leu Gardens.

Deltona High's Health Academy Color Run


Location: Deltona High School Auditorium, Deltona Fla.

The  Deltona High School Health Academy is hosting a 5K Color Run on Saturday, January 20th at 8:30 a.m.  Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.  There will be food trucks, music and more!  Bring friends and family and help support our Health Academy and HOSA organization. The first 100 to register receive a free T-shirt!  Early Registration is 15 dollars for students, 20 dollars for adults and 65 dollars for teams of 4. The cost the day of the race  will be 25 dollars per person. Hope to see you there!

"I'm Not For Sale" Human Trafficking Symposium


Location: Holy Family Catholic Church, Orlando FL

Symposium to Bring Awareness on Human Trafficking

Every year, hundreds of thousands of youth are trafficked around the country, and Orlando ranks third per capita in the nation for reported human trafficking cases.

The Ministries of Holy Family Catholic Church has partnered with the Diocese of Orlando Human Trafficking Task Force to tackle this growing problem during its first Human Trafficking Symposium on Jan. 20.

The symposium titled, “I’m Not for Sale,” is designed to bring awareness to youth and adults, ages 13 and older, about the issue of human trafficking that is happening in their hometowns.

The symposium begins with Mass at 8:30 a.m. and runs from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at Holy Family, 5125 S. Apopka Vineland Road, and is open to all residents from Greater Orlando and its surrounding communities.

The conference will include nationally renowned speakers such as Father Shenan Boquet  from Human Life International and Katariina Rosenblatt, LLM PhD, Consultant and Trainer/Author & Speaker on Human Trafficking & Domestic Violence and a human trafficking survivor. Attendees also will be able to participate in a hands-on workshop to put together survival backpacks for human trafficking victims as well as other activities.

This is a very important event your Z is happy to attend- it’s also their way of promoting Severe Weather Awareness to any who need know! If you were here for Irma just a few months back in September of 2017, you know how crucial it is to be aware of what you need to do when severe weather hits.

Now, that’s not to say it’s all information- there will be specialty trucks at the event from over 30 different places (including your Z!) for all to enjoy and explore.
